Who: Hiro, Sam, and anybody else who wants to watch Tremors

When: Backdated to Thursday night, dusk.
Warnings: Language? Probably language.

The ‘official story’ was simple, if outlandish: Sam had happened across a VHS tape of Tremors (true) while lost (false) in the dense mire of mess which was Hiro’s room. Though the tape had actually been uncovered in the Warehouse, she had no intention of saying so; she didn’t want to wonder if the truth would reach Dirge, or want to deal with the seeker if he heard and, hearing, took it into his head to reclaim the cassette. What she did want was to make good on what she’d said to Jadewing.

’Sometime, we’ll find for you a few decent horror flicks.’

Tremors had turned out to be the first of that few. With luck, and a little---or a lot---of looking, there would be others, and so the whole theatre project had been buttressed by the hope of having more movies. The screen was situated at one side of the clearing Irja had kindly created, suspended between the trunks of two massive trees and braced by branches across its back. (The controls were there, as well, and at two elevations; the human-scale console sheltered in what looked, to Sam, like an ice shack.) A viewing deck had been built opposite the screen, encircling one wide walnut tree at a height which would have any occupants up enough to talk to standing Cybertronians comfortably, without craning. The deck had been outfitted with a ladder, a small collection of mismatched chairs, and (importantly!) a small free-standing fire pit. Two ridges crossed the clearing so that people could park angled up to better see the screen, but the clearing itself was otherwise almost ordinary---and only ‘almost’ on account of its creation.

All things considered, the set-up was pretty sweet.

Hello Akito, have probably one of the few people here tonight who doesn’t know to react to your half naked state. He drives up and transforms, looking around to see who’s arrive so far. Spotting a familiar face (familiar enough, this gender thing is strange for him too), he smiles and steps up, going to a knee at a comfortable distance from Akito. “Hey, good to see you again. Looking forward to the movie?”

Breakdown rolled into the clearing, transforming as he arrived and taking a look around. So...who was here to watch a movie, huh? He expected Sam and Hiro, they were a given he figured, and Knock Out of course, his partner wouldn’t miss this, but he was curious to see who else might show up to watch.

Knock Out rolled in a little later. He had to shine his hubcaps or something. Who knows. Upon reaching Breakdown, he transforms and immediately latches onto his arm.

And that's his entire greeting, just being a leech. Hi Breakdown.

"We do, and I'd also like to visit them, though I'm not sure exactly where... or why hot springs are the thing that stands out to you." Grinning, Sam brushed a hand over Hiro's hair before crossing her arms and turning her attention back to Akito. "You're welcome! Sweaters aren't exactly idea for makeshift skirts, but I think it works well enough. Regular button-up shirts work better, though, and at some point, we should find you some large men's shirts; tie one the right way, and it'll cover everything you need to have covered to avoid awkwardness."

"Hey Wing!" The Knight was one mindful of others, but even if he were otherwise, he'd've heard himself hailed---Sam was surprisingly loud when she wanted to be, even calling from across the clearing. She started for the white mech, waving and grinning up. "Glad you're in for opening night! What d'you think of our arrangements?"

"They're supposed to be very good for your health!" She watches Sam brush Hiro's hair, wondering what it feels like - it looks like it would be rough, but also at the same time soft. When Sam's attention is returned to her, Akito smooths the sweater against her legs with a small smile. "I think it works well, too." A pause. "Wouldn't a dress work better than shirts?"

Wing grins and approaches Sam. He goes to a knee at a comfortable distance from her. “I wouldn’t have missed it! You’ve certainly made the place look nice.” He looks around again, just taking it all in.

Breakdown smiled over at him. “Almost like the drive-ins on Earth, huh?” He won’t give his partner any flack for getting here “late”, especially since the movie hasn’t started yet. “And a horror flick, just your thing.”

"A bad horror flick, even better." he gave Breakdown's arm a little squeeze before letting go, taking a look around at the place. He had to admit, it was pretty impressive.

"Almost. It's nice that we don't have to sneak in this time around. And I doubt there's going to be any humans making out in the car next to us."

Humans and their interfacing, right.

Spoiler alert: it's very soft and occasionally sweaty and also usually has leaves or grass in it. And sometimes sprinkles. Hiro huffs at Sam, somewhere between affectionate and annoyed, then tilts his head thoughtfully at Akito.

"I dunno, the shirt dress thing is cool. Very vintage." A pause, then, teasingly, "Makes sense, since Sam's from the past and all."

"Probably a little bit better, and I'd be happy to help you find dresses too, but I thought you might like the shirt you can tie and untie to more freely adjust just what is free for fresh air. Though, nobody's saying you can't have both." Sam shrugged, seeming satisfied with the huff her hair-ruffling had elicited. She turned to Hiro as if about to say something... then shut her mouth, nodding once in concession.

Spoiler alert: Akito would probably think it smells amazing, in that case. Her cheeks heat up again - just a bit! - when Hiro looks at her thoughtfully, making her smooth out the nonexistent wrinkles from her makeshift skirt again.

"If Hiro says the shirt dress thing is cool, and vintage, then I am happy to wear more shirt dress things."

Akito gives a small, polite bow in greeting, then claps her hands together in obvious excitement. "It's good to see Mr. Breakdown again! And yes! I've never seen a real movie before! This is going to be so fun! Are you looking forward to it?"

Jadewing walked over a bit closer to the viewing deck to more easily converse. "When they're on their game, the Constructicons were and are one of the best teams of architects and builders ever to walk Cybertron," he said. "That's if they didn't let their personalities and... particular quirks get in the way. Scrapper- the leader- likes to build his enemies into his constructions. Hook is a fussy perfectionist and probably the closest thing the Nemesis crew had to a dedicated medic. Bonecrusher is the muscle and hates just about everything; you can tell from his name how that usually goes. Mixmaster is borderline genius chemist; problem is, he's also borderline insane. On a good day, he can whip you up just about any kind of chemical compound you could want, but on a bad day... well, let's just say you'd be well advised to stay clear of both him and his lab. Long Haul does materials transport for the team, and never ceases to complain about how dull it is. And Scavenger... let's just say he has some serious self-esteem issues. He tries to make up for it by digging up random things and bringing them back to his team in hopes that they'll find it useful and toss him a few words of praise."

"They're also the first fully successful combiner team," he added. "They're the ones who perfected the process; before Devastator, most all attempts at gestalt technology left the unfortunate bots either dead or insane."

Hiro tosses Sam a smug, triumphant grin -- see? Someone thinks he has excellent style. "It's totally cool. Especially for movie-watching. And popcorn-eating.

"Speaking of: is there any more food?"

She could only turn up her hands at Hiro's victorious expression, having never argued otherwise---only occasionally implying it, often with an elbow. "I'm happy you're happy, then, and actually yeah. Some cookies. Even though I had them hidden under the peas in the freezer, I was surprised to find that they were still there this morning." Smiling smugly herself, Sam patted a pocket.

"I have half a dozen."

Akito smiles at the reaction, though hides it behind a hand. The mention of food reminds Akito that she brought some of her own, tucked safely away in her rucksack. She doesn't dare presume that the cookies will be shared with her, though she really wants to try one. The only 'dessert' she was ever given were pre-packaged pudding and jell-o cups, and those were always a very rare treat.

"I brought some fruits and vegetables to eat."

"It kind of does, doesn't it?", Jadewing agrees. "Though we made sure to include plenty of room for any bots or organics that either fly or walk too."

"I admit, I'm interested to see what this movie's like," He says. "Sam said it's good, and anything's better than Rumble and Frenzy's tastes, so it should at least be worth watching."

Sam considered the explanation, shifting to lean forward a little, elbows resting on the deck's railing. "I'm gonna regard 'particular quirks' as an industrial-strength euphemism now, and thank you for the info. It sounds like these guys are all individuals one would want to watch out for. Speaking of individuals one would want to watch out for... I'm going to get to asking about combiners eventually, but I'd first like to ask if you happened to spot Dirge in the air anywhere en route. I'm not really expecting him to show up... but I ask, just in case, and even though it sometimes seems I'd best prepare for that prat by picking up some new swear words---in case English and Quebecois can't quite cut it."

"If you had, we would've missed you." Beaming at the compliment---and the project's completion---Sam shrugged and crossed her arms. "Thanks! It was very much a good group effort; none of it would've been manageable without the others on-board, and everyone was awesome about it."

He smiles and looks over at Jadewing. "It's not an amazing movie, but it's not bad either." It's not entirely his kind of movie either, but his partner sure enjoys horror movies, so he's seen his fair share of Earth horror flicks now.

"Never? Well, guess it's about time you do. I hope you enjoy it." He smiles and nods. "Yeah, I am. I've seen this one before, but it'll be nice to watch it with others." He's glad to see the kid here, mingling and making friends he hopes.

He chuckled. "It wasn't that bad of one. ...There were worse."

"Yeah, it's a nice difference. To be able to walk in too." Not that driving wasn't nice, but having the option was nice.

He snorts. "What? You mean you won't miss that?"

"True. At least this one's got a bit of comedic value. It's so bad it's funny."

He actually cringes. Breakdown don't say that.

"Of course not, it was creepy. All those fluids and... eugh."
