Another piece of the puzzle [Open]
Who: Devi and you
What: A girl settling into a new place
When: A day or two after her initial arrival
Where: Haven hub and Loft
CW: None.
--
Well, Devi had managed to survive the first couple of nights. She'd found a place to crash, had been shown and found both the Pantry and the Bar and was, over all, at ease. No use keeping her dander up until it was needed.
Currently, she sat in a booth in the Loft, she'd always liked high places and Haven had those to spare, with a drink in her hand and her boots propped up on the table. Having largely avoided the Mechs so far, Devi was aiming to get a gander at the other creatures that inhabited Haven.
After all, she was stuck here, wasn't she? Might as well learn what she could and bars always seemed the best place to catch the vibe of a new reality.

"Looks like space age highlighter ink, if ya ask me. I'd ask why it was a long day too, but I'm not sure if I wanna know what you guys do to pass your time." She stepped up and over the railing so she could sit on the edge with her feet dangling.
So sorry for being so slow, hon.
He shifted closer, coming to lean a shoulder against the balcony so they could talk more comfortably. He, of course, makes sure she’s to his left, since...right eye covered with metal patch and all.
No problem at all, I saw your plurks, it's all kosher!
"Yeah, few days fresh," she says, absent tone still taking on the note of distracted curiosity. "I've only just got to starting to look around - this place came highly recommended." It was nice to get a chance to study the large face up close. "What kind of work do you do at the hospital?"

"It's a good bar. There are a few others around, but none with the same variety." How much variety could there be in glowing pink stuff?!
"Medical assistant. My partner's a medic. Mostly been just the two of us until we got here."

"I'll keep that in mind. This doesn't seem like a place that suffers a lot of.. injuries.. I mean I heard about the Miasma but.. I guess I don't know much about what kind of job opportunities there are here... Having a mostly whole planet and all."

Maybe check the warehouse. He makes a bit of a face. “Guess it just depends what the Miasma tosses at us at any given times. Sometimes it’s nothing, sometimes it’s strange, and sometimes it’s dangerous.”

"It's probably terrible of me to be excited for the next showing."

He laughed, not surprised by her reaction. “I can understand that. Sounds kinda crazy, right? But interesting. You’ll see. Sometime something will happen.”

She shrugged and took a pull from her drink, still wholly amused at all of this.

"Animorphs, eat your heart out. I don't wanna assume and sorry if it's rude but.. Everyone who is a Mech around here.. you're all Cybertronian, right? I don't want to wear myself out on a question that applies to a lotta bodies."

Something about the police you don’t like, or just the implications of the need for one? Makes him wonder.

"Last place I was at, the 'cops' was this little green alien kid screaming about his need for tacos and world domination. Faith is something I'm afraid I'm happily lacking."

He gestures, just talking with his hands a bit. “Though a little alien screaming about tacos does sound entertaining.”
