Thanksgiving (Canada)
Who: Hiro, Sam, and YOU!
What: Approximated Thanksgiving!
Where: Samada digs in the Hub.
When: Forty minutes after this yes it’s backdated as all hell
Warnings: None!
Arranging everything had been a matter of making do, and it showed in most everything---the plates, the glasses, the chairs around the table (with two exceptions)---being mismatched, but Sam felt the arrangements were a solid ‘satisfactory’. One side of the sink was piled high with everything she and Hiro had dirtied in making the dinner, but the kitchenette’s counters had been cleared for the food; the table was ready, with the coffee table and couch for any overflow; and everybody who had expressed interest in coming over had directions to the door, though they’d probably catch The Trews halfway down the hall. The apartment itself? Not satisfactory, but more than. She hadn’t done much to the main space after moving in, having liked what she found from the first; the floor, walls, and ceiling were covered with what looked like sheet copper. With darkly-varnished branches latticed across the walls (nails on a few supporting botanical prints, as well as one fancily-framed contract) and a couple rag rugs, the orange wasn’t overwhelming. The tin foil turkeys Hiro had constructed were... conspicuous, but not entirely unwelcome.
Food? Check.
Seating and settings? Check.
Place presentable? Check.
They were as ready as they were going to get, if they were going to get guests.

Well that was a pitcher of some sort, the top covered in foil.
"Hope I'm at the right place."

"You bet, and the first one for it. C'mon in." The adept stepped back to let The Spine in, indicating the shoe mat with one hand. "I don't mean to be rude, but you kitted out for organic food? Asking so I know what I can offer."
no subject
"Just water for me. A little tea or club soda if I'm feeling adventurous." Offering the pitcher, which if Sam took it was indeed warm to the touch. "Wasn't sure what you had, so I brought a side."

She started into the kitchenette, finding a clear patch of counter easily enough (on account of
Blenderbot and MicromechBert and Ernie both being 'at large' in the apartment) and casting a glance back over her shoulder."No club soda, but water and tea, we got."
no subject
Following her into the apartment proper so he wasn't hovering in the doorway. "Want any help?"

Having uncovered the pitcher as she spoke, Sam gave its contents a second glance, not letting her eyes linger too long. She didn't know what she'd expected to find, but
it wasn't mac & cheeseshe supposed she shouldn't've been surprised... even if no-one could've called that culinary curveball."You live close, you booked it over, or both, for this to still be so warm. I'm impressed. Count yourself in for every to-do---and know that that's on account of your gameness, not just your gruyere. Or whatever cheese you went with."
Lea and Jendayi
He looks a little nervous; after all, he hasn't been to someone else's house for dinner since he was a kid. But he's at least gotten himself and Jendayi into some freshly clean, if not super fancy clothes for the occasion. It occurs to him that he should see if he can locate a nice dress or something in Jendayi's size, but it's a little late for that now. Hopefully what they've got on is acceptable.

"Hey guys! I hope you came hungry. C'mon and join us." She jerked her head towards the apartment's interior as she stepped away from the door to allow their entry. "We need all the help we can get. Hoping to break this bird down before everyone ollies out, which reminds me---either of you do the wishbone thing?"

“Hello.”

She released Jendayi and straightened, both hands rising, palm out, in a sort of silent 'stop there.' "Lea, if you'd brought extra food, I'd thank you politely and honestly appreciate it, but still swear some on the inside because we're trying to pare down what we've got to put away. Whatever you like, you let me know, you'll take at least half of it home---and awesome! Can I ask what game, or would you rather make it an after-supper surprise?"

She easily released Sam, shifting back to Lea’s side and putting an arm around him, her hand closing on the back on his coat.

Omg I'm terribly late /gets all White Rabbit
Adjusting her jacket, Devi went to go rap on the door and paused, mulling the brief moment of hesitation over before knocking anyway.
When the door was answered, she smiled crookedly and held up her box. "I come bearing breaded goods."
it's ok!

"I was taught to never show up empty handed and I've got no objections to not going away empty handed. Tea will be fine, thank you. Nice little place you got here."

"Green's fine. And he's the guy that's forty years ahead of me right? Twenty ahead of you?" Look, people from her coast were rare. "And naw, you guys seem to have done fine. It's got personality and that's always important in living spaces."
no subject
"Thank you."
