Lea is not unaware of the black ice beneath her feet, but he's more focused on her words, and her tears. He really can't wrap his mind around her reasoning. Can't she see that he wants to help? And how can she call herself a monster when if either of them deserves that title, it's him? He doesn't understand and his frustration with that fact is obvious when he speaks again.
