Time for some exploring!

Who: Jadewing, Wing, Blackarachnia, Bulkhead, Deckard, Sam, and possibly Gunmax
Where: The Southern Ruins
When: A few hours after this post.
What: Exploring, looking for answers, or whatever else they might find
Warnings: Possible physical danger. Exploring old ruins has never been the safest proposition.
Notes: Given the number of participants, in the interest of keeping things moving, there will be no set posting order in this log.

After all those who were interested in going had met up near the warehouse, a debate about the details of their little expedition had occurred. After some discussion, they'd decided to explore the ruins to the south of the city first. Not only did they seem like a likely prospect for finding something interesting, they were also the one's nearest the police station, and thus nearest to potential rescuers should something untoward happen.

Still, they made sure to gather some supplies from the warehouse before they left. Ropes, cables, fasteners to hook such to things, lights, cameras, rations and first aid supplies for both humans and Cybertronians, as well as a supply of water and a hardhat for Sam. Thus equipped, they'd set out, soon arriving in the area just outside the ruins.

It was bizarre; as though an entire mountain that had once been there had somehow been lifted away. Jadewing wondered what awaited them inside. 'Well,' he supposed, 'only one way to find out...'

Wing was curious as to what they'd find. This was Haven...but was it really the same Haven they'd come from? Not even the Guardians around here seemed sure, and so all they could do was search for clues...and that meant heading to the ruins.

Wing was determined to keep an optic on Sam, and keep her safe. Everyone else could watch out for themselves quite a bit easier than Sam could. Not that she couldn't take care of herself, but she was among giants...literally.

Being the smallest (and the squishiest) person along on the exploration effort wasn’t enough to dissuade Sam---she’d said she wanted to participate and she did; to participate, to be present, and to see what there was to see. Granted, the condition of keeping up would’ve been worrisome which was to say damned difficult if it weren’t for Wing… but given the mech, his apparently inexhaustible goodwill, and (of course!) his willingness to offer her a hand, she was gold.

“Anyone got a guess as to what we might find?”

Gold and cat-curious, as coming made clear.

"Trouble."

Which is to say Gunmax had no actual fucking idea, but he still wanted to sound cool. For the most part he seemed pretty casual, in that 'I'm spooked to Hell and back but I'm totally going to pretend everything is perfectly normal' sort of way. He'd taken to sticking close to Deckard. Not too close, because he was a self proclaimed "badass", but y'know. Close enough. In case Deckard got spooked, yeah. That's why.

"Haven't ya seen any horror movies? Places like this are always bad news."

Deckard knew what Gunmax was doing. He wouldn't comment on it, though. Frankly, he'd been sticking close to Gunmax lately too. He came too close to losing his only remaining family teammate, and that thought scared the hell out of him.

Right now, though, he was frowning and uneasy for a different reason, staring in horror at missing mountain.

"Prima's temple used to be here." Deckard's voice was hushed. He shook his head. "What happened to him and the others after that explosion?"

He wasn't sure if he should be curious or appalled by the idea of these horror films. In any case, it wasn't important right now.

"Let's hope answers can indeed be found." Wing followed after Jadewing, gaze scanning the ruins. It was...well, a mess. There seemed like there was nothing left, and yet a second look showed more than one might have thought.

“Sure, some, but I’ve been hoping we’ll stay firmly in ‘sci-fi/fantasy.’” The odds were excellent, or appeared to be---exploring an alien world with a team of robots couldn’t be categorized as anything else. “But even seeing only some, I’ve got to say: Jadewing? Sometime, we’ll find for you a few decent horror flicks. Sounds like you’ve seen a pretty poor sampling.”

Frowning a little at the exchange around her, the adept twisted to address Wing. “About answers, you want to give me the broad strokes on what was here? Or, ah,” and from ‘or,’ the words were a little louder, open to all, “this Prima...?”

There's such a thing as a DECENT horror flick?

The thought crossed Deckard's mind, but with far more pressing matters, he gave it no more than passing attention. He looked down at Sam at her questions.

"Haven used to be divided into seven regions, ruled by beings calling themselves the First-Forged. Prima was the eldest and most powerful of them, and his temple, his home . . . " He looked at the empty space between peaks, awe and grief in his tone as he pointed. "It was incredible. Beyond beautiful. A massive building with one high tower. The only light in all of Haven besides the distant sun shone from that tower and reached all the way to Megatronus's quadrant in the far north.

"I met Prima once. In that tower. He'd been worried about the Lambda - rightfully, it turned out. He'd even asked my opinion about it. He was . . . it was like standing with a deity. I think . . . I think that's what they were, the First-Forged - minor deities."

A frown darkened his face, worry and maybe even a hint of fear, as he remembered something. "Somewhere in the temple, there was an elevator that went down into the very core of Cybertron. A bunch of us went down there at one time to deal with the Pillar that the Lambda had dropped on us. That's a story for another time, though Bulkhead and Thundercracker could tell you about it too. Thundercracker came out of that one the worst of all of us." He shook his head, pushing that mess aside. "If that shaft is exposed now . . . and the Miasma's gotten into it . . . "

Suddenly, he's hurrying forward, anxious to find that shaft!

Wing cups Sam to him and runs after the others. This all worried him, if he was honest. What had done this to the temple? Why was there practically nothing left of it?

Still, if there was some way in to the lower levels it may be good to find them. He looked all around, trying to keep an optic out of something that could open into a shaft.

"What about there?" He carefully shifted a hand away from Sam to point out what looked like a promising spot.

Wing gently set Sam on the ground, back enough to keep her out from under foot. “Let’s see if it can still be opened.” He’ll crouch down by the cover to help lift it.
