Come gather 'around the fire...

Who: Anyone
What: A gathering for the citizens of Haven.  A time to relax and mingle...and a little something more.
When: All day and night of the 14th
Where: Outside of The Hub, and perhaps inside too if you wish.
Event: Not everything is as it seems.  Some of the offerings will cause some...unexpected results.

The Guardians have been hard at work getting the large open street outside of the Hub and Warehouse set up for a massive gathering.  There were tables set up all over the place full of all kinds of food, drink, and fuel.  A large bonfire had been set up in the middle of everything, and various volunteers rotated in and out throughout the day and night playing various kinds of music or providing other types of entertainment.  There would be a constant flow of music, skits, acrobatics, and magic tricks.  The festivities will be held throughout the day.

Not everything would go as planned, though.  There were a few tables among that many that had been set up courtesy of the Miasma.  They go unnoticed with everything else going on.  Really, there is enough for literally hundreds of people of various races, the handful of suspicious tables are easy to miss.  The contents of these tables will have peculiar effects on those who consume the contents offered upon them.  Nothing harmful really, just some effects to further encourage the lighthearted purpose of this gathering.

A cat padded around through the festivities - exploring, observing, interacting as much as those around it would tolerate. Children loved it. Adults were more mixed. The cat took it all in stride.

It wasn't often that it got to observe and enjoy such gatherings as a known participant.

Jendayi kind of teetered around from place to place. That was until she spotted a kitty. She wanted to pet the kitty; could she pet the kitty? Here, kitty, kitty.

She's just going to half stumble over to pet Death now...yes, because this is an amazing idea.

By the time Jadewing stumbled across the cat- almost literally so- he was so thoroughly drunk on the 'spiked' energon that he'd better hope that the magic didn't come with authentic hangover effects the next day. Right then, though, that was the last thing on Jadewing's processor. He was feeling great. Ok, so he wasn't especially steady on his feet. So what? Everything was about ten times funnier and more fun in his current state and he planned to enjoy it.

Almost stepping on cats, though, was not cool. "Whup... gotta watch that," he said, chuckling to himself. Then he got a better look at the feline in question. "Heeeeey... you look like Ravage, ya know that? Scept less... metal." That made him chuckle again. As if the cat was really gonna answer him.

Sam saw the cat, and stopped to stare.

That there was a cat wasn’t at all surprising; there were enough strays roaming Cybertron, one came to expect the occasional encounter. That there was that cat, though---that was surprising, because Sam had never expected a cat could be so sphincter-clenchingly spooky. With an aura not only absent---

There was a story the cat called to mind. A scary story to tell in the dark, about an old man, and an empty house, and talking cats, if they really were cats---Schwartz had also covered Like Cat’s Eyes in his collection, and that story was about something else.

Something else entirely.

Wheeljack is dancing like a maniac by the bonfire! What fun! Not that he's any good at it, but HEY WHO CARES?

Oh, wait . . . the musicians just finished their set, and he's /still/ dancing. Has he finally lost his mind?

Rathan is perched on a building overlooking the revelry. He's shapechanged himself down quite a bit in size so he doesn't crush it. Part of his job is to keep the bonfire going, but also he's just enjoying watching the added mania from the offerings on the Miasma-generated tables. Of course the dragon picked up on the magic right away, but he's determined that it's all harmless, regardless of who ingests it. Does he bother to warn anyone, his fellow Guardians included?

Haha, nope. This is far too entertaining to spoil needlessly.

Rathan wasn't the only one that could sense the magic...nor the only one just fine with keeping quiet about it. Sirrah rested beside him, watching the festivities below.

Thundercracker's sitting at a table in absolute hysterics. Wow, who broke through the now-giggly Seeker's walls to find his sense of humor? The jokes weren't THAT funny, were they?

Irja isn't affected by anything, but TC's giggles draw here. "Oh my," she giggles back. "You seem to be enjoying yourself.

Jadewing made his way over to Thundercracker, looking decidedly unsteady, but not giving a single frag. He found himself laughing along with Thundercracker because... well because it seemed like the thing to do. After a few moments, though, he paused, confused.

"Hey, Thundra... Thundcrack... your name's way too long, ya know that?", he said. "What're we laughin' at?"

Deckard is off to the side. He's just finished talking to the chief of police, who has turned to some other acquaintances. Deckard himself is now starting to wander through the crowds a bit more, looking for a familiar face.

"Deckard! Hey!"

This familiar face seems to have spotted you first, buddy. Gunmax strolls on over like he owns the place, slinging an arm around the blue mech's shoulders and grinning like a giant dweeb. Yeaaaah Gunmax may or may not have gotten into the happy juice shhhh.

"What's with the serious look, huh? It's a party! Have a little fun!"

Yep. Happy juice.

If Deckard wanted a familiar face, then that's what he'd get. "Heeeeey, Decakrd!", Jadewing greeted, making his way over to the blue mech somewhat unsteadily. "How's it going'?"

Lea had heard the announcement about the bonfire party, and thought it might be a good idea to get Jendayi a bit more (supervised) interaction with the others. Besides, who was he to turn down free food and festivities? It sounded like fun.

Thus, after giving Jendayi instructions not to go too far, he strolled along the food tables, gradually filling his plate. Yessir, this party looked like it'd be a good time all around.

She's going to trail behind him, also putting food on her plate and glancing around. She's mildly nervous, but nearly everyone she'd talked to had been nice before, so...

Free food and festivities? 'If it's gratis, grab it,'---a motto of students and starving artists everywhere---didn't swing the weight it once would've, but the attitude it engendered (check everything out, in case) stuck, and so Sam had been browsing. Once she noticed Lea she stopped, took a moment to finish the pinwheel she'd had in-hand, and started over, waving.

"Hello! Lea, hey."

Sirrah eventually does come down to walk among the party goers. Really, this was all too amusing to keep distant from.

Drift's hanging off to the side somewhere, more content in calmer, quieter areas. He's not really feeling overwhelmed by the party or anything, but for now he's perfectly happy to hang back and people watch.

Wing steps over to join Drift. He settles by Drift, just a quiet presence. Until he lets out a snortgiggle. So composed Wing, perfect.

Of course, such a sound coming out of him just makes him giggle more, a hand coming up to cover his mouth for a moment.

Jadewing didn't know what was in this energon, but it was good stuff whatever it was. And it was going to his processor faster than Skycutter's bootleg high grade. And here he'd thought this party was going to be boring...

It'd been awhile since she'd seen Jade----since they'd arrived in fact. So she'll be quick to flag him down, innocently intended at first.

"Jade! Goodness, I haven't seen you since we'd arrived, no doubt you've fully recovered?"

"Hey!" It was with some effort Sam stopped at that one word, aware she'd stated 'hey you up there' should remain a last resort... even if she was tempted to tease a little, since Jadewing had demonstrated a decent sense of humour. "How goes it?"

No way man this party was literally the best part At least that's how Gunmax felt after chugging through too much happy juice. That's what it's called now. He saunters on up and gives Jadewing a playful whack on the back because why the hell not.

"Yo! How's it hangin'?"

In some sad attempt to be social, Elsa decided, sure, we'll go to this outing, and it'll be fun. There will be food, friends, and entertainment, it'll be just like a calm, but properly festive ball back at home. No big deal.

A couple of desserts later, (because she's guilty of missing chocolate cakes that Gerda used to make.) suddenly everything is overwhelmingly...light. Airy. Everything seems like it's going to be alright, and that tonight was going to be more than just a 'normal' outing, no, it was going to be fun, and she was going to make it fun if it wasn't.

And that was only after a couple of petite fours. No one let her near any wine or champagne, or it'll be a winter wonderland by the end of the night. She's already tottering to and fro, her ice heels in her hand (in her hand, not melted away like anyone with coherancy would've thought. They're in her hand.)

“Elsa, hey!” Sam waved, pleased she’d caught sight of the other woman. (Elsa’s decidedly distinctive aura had helped---had, in fact, allowed Sam to spot her amongst the others about.) That she held her shoes should’ve been a red flag, and would’ve, but as an U of A alumnus, Sam had seen her share of shenanigans. In this situation, it didn't seem strange. “How are you?”
