Merry Christmas to all...

Who: Lea and Jendayi first, then later Lea and anyone  who wants to come visit for the holiday
Where: Lea and Jendayi's apartment
When: Christmas day
What: IT'S CHRISTMAS! :D
Warnings: Christmas cheer. No Scrooges allowed!

Morning, for Jendayi

Lea still couldn't believe he'd managed to find an artificial Christmas tree and a few boxes of ornaments at the warehouse. OK, so the ornaments were obviously old and a little tacky. They were still Christmas ornaments. It meant that he could give Jendayi a proper Christmas. They'd decorated it together while he explained about what Christmas meant and some of the traditions.

And this morning, aside from a few toys he'd arranged neatly under the tree as surprises for her, Lea had a very special present for Jendayi. Now he just needed to wait for her to wake up.

Later in the day, everyone else

OK, so it wasn't really a proper Christmas dinner. More like all of his and Jendayi's favorite foods that could be made with the ingredients available to them, all laid out buffet style on the kitchen table. They were only expecting a couple of friends, if anyone came over at all, but there were plenty of plates and plenty of food to go around if anyone did.

Hiro is helping, albeit by bearing utensils and excessive napkins. Really it's all for the best, because if he was the one carrying the casserole dish, it'd be in pieces on the ground by now. Still, once the door is open, he makes a beeline in (rude) to investigate those cookies (also rude).

"Dude, this is awesome!" Feel free to swat him, Sam.

Sam's expression shifted to one of glad relief as Lea answered the door, though momentary alarm flickered across her face as Hiro eeled by. Why was apparent---her immediate reaction to the teen's sudden nearness was to clamp her thumbs over the lid to protect the potatoes (or at least their sweet topping) from theiving fingers. Seeing that Hiro's attention was actually elsewhere, she relaxed and turned her attention back to their host.

"Making this takes twice as many marshmallows as the recipe really calls for, since so many go missing when I put the potatoes together. Same story with other ingredients, so now my default is 'play defense.' Thanks for having us ov---Hiro, your shoes!" Toeing her own shoes off, Sam again looked to Lea. "So like I was saying, thanks for having us over, and merry Christmas to you, too. It smells amazing in here and everything looks great. You've been busy!"
