Meet the Medic [Open Log]

Who: The city's medic and mechanic...and all those who want their injuries tended.
What: The city medic doing what he can for all the new arrivals who've just been through an explosion.
Where: Hospital, located in the Northwest of the city
When: Shortly after arrival.  Galos will bring everyone to the city, and show the injured to the hospital.  The good medic here will care for any who come in.  Don't worry, he can care for Cybertronians too.
Warnings: Only what your characters bring with them.

The hospital is quite large, located in the midst of various houses and apartments.  One side is clearly designed for the organic residence, with nice sliding doors opening into a foyer and waiting area.  Halls stretch off to the right to various exam rooms where the resident doctor and his apprentices can check on the sick.  Down another hall are hospital rooms for those who require an extended stay.

The other side is designed for the robotic residents.  The front part is a large garage, which leads to a waiting area.  Past that are repair bays with with tables, each repair bay is stocked with tools.  The mechanic teams range from human to Cybertronian.

Whether organic or robotic, all those who come to the hospital will see the Paian, the head medic and mechanic.

Paian looked to be nothing more than a normal human plucked out of some Victorian era, steampunk world.  Large green goggled hung around his neck and large leather gloves were tucked behind a wide belt.  There's nothing really fancy about his dress, he's dressed to work.  He's a big guy, and a no-nonsense doctor.  Those who come to see him may not his worried frown as he ushers them back to get settled where he can start to work to take care of those injuries.

"You have!" It's less a question and more a confirmation that she was worrying way more than what was necessary.

"I was just wondering---" How did you melt that ice? The vicious cycle of panic turning into eternal winter was broken, but still, she must've been way more at ease now than she thought.

"Is he alright? Well, obviously, he's...alright, is he, err, recovering?" She's not sure of the Cybertronian lingo here.

Lots and lots of hot water, patience, and icepicks.

Paian nodded. "He's as recovered as possible now. I believe he was going to see if he could find a decent place to clean up."

"Are you injured at all?" She seemed okay, but it never hurt to ask, especially if she were one of the new arrivals.

She lets out a breath she didn't know she was holding and smiles, quite genuinely.

"Good. Thank you, I---ice and all. It's not always the kindest." Biting her lip, she shakes her head.

"No, not really, I'll be alright. Just a bruise here and there, but there are more pertinent patients I'm sure you must be attending to."

Wing!

[Drift rushes over, hesitating when he reaches the berth and checking Wing over for damage. He wants to hug him but he doesn't want to hurt him so awkwardness it is.]

Are you okay? What happened?

[knight_light]

[He laughs softly and will put a hand on Drift's chest.] I ended up at the bottom of the pile when Lea, Knock Out and I arrived here.

I'm okay, just a bit of a twisted wing. It's mostly fixed. [Still hurts...could probably fly, but mostly healed.]

Knock Out, huh.

[He likes Knock Out and all buuuuut anyway. He calms down a bit, placing his hand over Wing's and giving it a squeeze.]

That's good. You really had me worried for a bit.

[deadlydoctor]

[Knock Out crosses his arms over his chest, catching on what the other meant by that and now looking all to happy.]

Good. Just point me to the right direction, I know what I am looking for.

And that is...?

[knight_light]

[You're just jealous they went on that date...]

[His other hand comes up to brush his fingers softly down Drift's cheek.] I didn't mean to worry you. Just a twisted wing, that's all.

[gentle_giant]

His smile grows. "I'm glad you're all right. Are you the human he mentioned? The one that made that ice brace?"

There's no judgement in his tone, he's just curious.

[ABSOLUTELY.

Drift leans into the touch a little, venting a soft sigh.]

It's okay. We're okay.

Never a dull moment though, huh?

[gentle_giant]

[He lets out a little sigh...he hates explaining this.] There's something...wrong with how bodies are healing recently.

Organic bodies aren't repairing themselves, and even your auto repair systems won't be working. I don't know why for sure. Just be careful that you don't make things worse trying to make them better. And don't expect what you do to turn out as it usually does, because right now, it won't.

[knight_light]

[You adorable idiot. That date meant nothing.]

[He chuckles.] Certainly not, especially since I met you. You've certainly made my life exciting.

[Dammit Wing, that's probably not what Drift wants to hear.]

[SO JEALOUS

and actually meeting Drift made your life DEAD. He knows that wasn't what Wing was referring to at all, but he still struggles to force a smile.]

Yeah, uh. I guess so.

[smile was faliure oops]

[knight_light]

[He grimaces when he realizes, the moment after the words left his mouth, that that was the wrong thing to say. He puts his smile back in place and leans forward, forehelm gently thumping against Drift's.]

I'm here, Drift. I'm alive and well here, with you. I wouldn't want it any other way. I'm glad you're a part of my life.

I know, I know.

[Ok now Drift can smile. Kind of hard not to when Wing's all up in his face like that.]

I'm so happy to have you back.

[knight_light]

[Wing smiles, and will lean in to steal a light kiss before pulling back and getting to his feet.]

Shall we get you looked at? You're looking like you could use some medical attention as well.

[FUUUUUUUUUUUck drift's still new to this relationship thing, he just stares wide eyed for a second before grinning like a massive dork.]

Um, y-yeah. Yeah, that's probably a good idea.

[he glances down at one of his arms which has a lovely FLAT TIRE. very inconvenient.]

Hope there's some spare parts laying around.

[knight_light]

[Wing's optics sparkle a bit at that reaction. If only he could sit down and just keep kissing Drift he'd be happy, but this isn't the place to be doing that, and Drift is injured.]

C'mon, then, let's see the medic.

[He'll head out to go find Paian...or Knock Out, though he's pretty sure Knock Out has left already.]

[They can make out when they're all patched up, but FOR NOW, Drift nods and follows Wing. WHERE YOU AT MEDICS]

How dangerous?

[The ruins definitely has her attention along with everything else he was telling her. It was definitely on her list.. just a little further down than the rest. For now.]

[At the grunt, Jadewing decides not to comment further on the medic's unusual abilities. He does frown thoughtfully, though, at the insistence that he doesn't owe anything.]

That's what Garos said. I'm still not buying it though. No offense, but in my experience, you don't get something for nothing.

And since you're apparently telling me that I can just walk in and claim a residence too, it's pushing this whole thing right into 'too good to be true' territory. And you know what they say about things like that.

[At least back in Haven, there had been semi-clear expectations attached to their room and board. Defend the city and the planet. Serve your First Forged. Here? All this generosity felt suspicious. There had to be a catch somewhere.

Currently, though, Jadewing glanced around at the water all over the med bay floor.]

Should probly at least find something to clean this up before I go. Don't think you want a huge puddle all over your med by floor.

[Oh look. Human medic is still here. He'll notice Wing waving Drift his way and will approach.]

Ready for repairs?

The lack of judgement is surprising, but Elsa is still wary. Things at home may be fine now but she stayed concerned about it just the safety of others, but now herself as well.

Seeing that since this particular person has been kind enough to help her green friend, she's less hesitant to divulge.

"Yes. Yes, that was me. He asked me to, I'm glad it didn't hurt him further."

Jadewing had finished mopping up the water and returning the mop to storage. He emerges from the med bay's back room, intent on heading out to find a place to stay. He'll think about those spas the human mentioned later; he's never been to one, but if this 'not healing properly' thing was going to be around awhile, he might eventually see if either of them had a decent oil bath.

He was about to bid Paian goodbye, when he noticed that the human medic wasn't alone. And that the mech he was talking with was a familiar face in more ways than one. "Thundercracker?"
