Meet the Medic [Open Log]
Who: The city's medic and mechanic...and all those who want their injuries tended.
What: The city medic doing what he can for all the new arrivals who've just been through an explosion.
Where: Hospital, located in the Northwest of the city
When: Shortly after arrival. Galos will bring everyone to the city, and show the injured to the hospital. The good medic here will care for any who come in. Don't worry, he can care for Cybertronians too.
Warnings: Only what your characters bring with them.
The hospital is quite large, located in the midst of various houses and apartments. One side is clearly designed for the organic residence, with nice sliding doors opening into a foyer and waiting area. Halls stretch off to the right to various exam rooms where the resident doctor and his apprentices can check on the sick. Down another hall are hospital rooms for those who require an extended stay.
The other side is designed for the robotic residents. The front part is a large garage, which leads to a waiting area. Past that are repair bays with with tables, each repair bay is stocked with tools. The mechanic teams range from human to Cybertronian.
Whether organic or robotic, all those who come to the hospital will see the Paian, the head medic and mechanic.
Paian looked to be nothing more than a normal human plucked out of some Victorian era, steampunk world. Large green goggled hung around his neck and large leather gloves were tucked behind a wide belt. There's nothing really fancy about his dress, he's dressed to work. He's a big guy, and a no-nonsense doctor. Those who come to see him may not his worried frown as he ushers them back to get settled where he can start to work to take care of those injuries.

Organic bodies aren't repairing themselves, and even your auto repair systems won't be working. I don't know why for sure. Just be careful that you don't make things worse trying to make them better. And don't expect what you do to turn out as it usually does, because right now, it won't.

Now THAT is a huge problem. For how long that has been going on? It might be some sort of infection.

I noticed it first sixteen days ago. It's not just healing, people are disappearing too. I think they're connected, I just don't know how yet.
no subject
[Well at least Paian managed to get him in doctor mode.] Show me one of the first patients affected.
no subject
It's notable only because of how...wrong it is. People are supposed to heal, even Cybertronian bodies repair themselves to a point. This...this is just...wrong.
It was some time before that when people started disappearing. That's...not unusual really, the Miasma swallows people the same way it drops them here, but never so many so quickly. Things just don't feel right.
[While he's talking he's motioned Knock Out to follow him and has headed to the organic side of the hospital. Don't worry, it's built to accommodate robots coming to visit and help out, so Knock Out will have no problem stepping into a room. A girl sits on a bed, her arm bandaged with red already soaking the bandage. She'll give them a smile when they step in. She looks....worn and tired.]

believeslistens to him?]Yes I am aware of what my people is made of and how it's supposed to work. Perhaps there has been a change in the environment that it's affecting us. I know you have drones, Mr. Goat had them with him when he found us. Those can't heal properly either?
The Miasma seems to act like the Lamba, a rift in space and time that was in the last Cybertron I was dropped in. [That is said so very casually. he's used to weird things at this point.] It was influenced by an external force, Unicron. Could it be that he's coming back...
[He follows, actually being careful to not step on anything important and grateful that there's enough space.
Why it had to be a tiny organic, he's grown a soft spot for those. Frag.] What happened to her?
no subject
The drones aren't living, they can be repaired without problem. Whatever this is, only seems to affect the living.
Lambda...you're not the first of the new arrivals to say that word. I don't know much about Unicron, but... [He sighs] The Miasma has been around for at least five hundred years, that's how long I've been here, and it was here when I arrived. Nothing has changed with the Miasma itself that I know of. [Tone says he's not ruling out that possibility, though.]
Cat scratch. [Tone is dry.] Only it won't stop bleeding. [He'll unwrap her arm and will get new bandages to wrap it back up, but he'll pause to let Knock Out have a look first. Sure enough, four uneven scratches down her forearm, a couple of them deeper than the others, and all of them oozing blood.]
[The girl gives Knock Out a smile.] Are you a new doctor here?
no subject
We could use them to run some tests. The Lamba was a giant tear in the sky, a rift in the space and time, in the last Cybertron I lived. Be glad you don't know who Unicron is. Knock Out raises and eyebrow a him.] You can't possibly be that old.
[Don't talk to him and don't smile at him, you little she human, he's not interested in small talk.
...]
Yes I arrived here yesterday. What's your name?
[He gives the give and the wound a closed look, studying it.] There's nothing otu of the ordinary. Did you get a sample of her blood?
no subject
[He gives Knock Out a wry half smile.] Immortality, or something close to it; perk of being a Guardian.
[And Paian's just gonna give Knock Out a raised brow with that "yes"....though he probably will let you work here, really, he could use a skilled medic around her.]
[Paian nodded about the blood sample. He and others a lot more scientific minded had looked, but perhaps a medic would see something he hadn't.] Yeah. I've got a sample.
[The girl's smile widens.] Lessa. What's yours?
no subject
[He's going to claim half the space and a big room as his office, either you like it or not man. At least while they work on this together.]
I'm Knock Out. A fitting name, don't you think?
[Knock Out made an effort to actually not sound patronizing.] I want to analyze it, I come with my own equipment. Less risk of using tool already contaminated by whatever is going on here.
Lessa, did you go to any strange place before this happened? Or did you see anything out of the ordinary? Dark shadows, wolves, or funny lights?
no subject
Much of my gifts came from higher powers from my own world. I've gained a few more since getting here, but I was a Guardian before that.
[Half? You better be one hell of a medic if he's going to allow you half, big guy. He will certainly make sure you have a good work space, though...]
[Paian nods.] I think that'd be a good idea. A fresh set of eyes one this certainly wouldn't hurt.
[Lessa laughs. It's a bright sound, happy.] Very. You're a very handsome robot.
[She shakes her head.] No. My cat got a little feisty is all, he can be quite a grump. Only after a day the bleeding hadn't stopped so I came to see Paian. And...well he couldn't heal it. I know it's got him really worried.
[She glances at the man, clearly wishing for his sake more than her own that he could figure out what was going on.]
no subject
Wasn't your world Earth? What higher powers could possibly be found in there...
[He needs a lot of space, bro
for his ego. But yes a proper work space will be nice.Oh, Knock Out's starting to like the little organic.] You should see my other form, it's almost as impressive. And really fast.
Ans where is that cat now? [He looks at Paian as well.] Do you have it? We should take a blood sample too so we can rule out theories.
no subject
[He nods.] What's known has been documented. There's a library in the Hub that should have a copy of the information.
[Amused and wry grin.] Earth has all kinds of beliefs and religions, you don't supposed those stories came from somewhere?
[Paian nods.] The cat is here. We have a blood sample from it at well.
[Good, she likes him too. She giggles.] You don't seem like the type to pick an alt that's "almost" as impressive. Doesn't sound like it would meet your approval if it was just "almost".
no subject
[Finally some useful new, Knock Out beams.] A library! Now we are going somewhere.
Most come from kids fairy tales. Are you going to tell em Santa Claus is real? [Knock out regretted saying that a second later when he realized the girl was staring at them.] Uh....I mean...yeah right, the cat. Great I'll take a look at it too.
[What's not to like?
Don't answer that Paian.]You are a really smart little she human, you know that? You are right. I am the fastest mech when I am in car mode. I'll shows you once we fix you.
no subject
As for our duties, that depends on who we're linked to. My powers, and so my duties, are related to healing and taking care of people.
[
You're growing on him...Paian and Lessa both laugh at Knock Out's attempt to cover his "blunder" over suggesting Santa wasn't real.]Don't worry, Mister Knock Out. [Lessa beamed] He might be real in some world out there. You never know.
