Meet the Medic [Open Log]

Who: The city's medic and mechanic...and all those who want their injuries tended.
What: The city medic doing what he can for all the new arrivals who've just been through an explosion.
Where: Hospital, located in the Northwest of the city
When: Shortly after arrival.  Galos will bring everyone to the city, and show the injured to the hospital.  The good medic here will care for any who come in.  Don't worry, he can care for Cybertronians too.
Warnings: Only what your characters bring with them.

The hospital is quite large, located in the midst of various houses and apartments.  One side is clearly designed for the organic residence, with nice sliding doors opening into a foyer and waiting area.  Halls stretch off to the right to various exam rooms where the resident doctor and his apprentices can check on the sick.  Down another hall are hospital rooms for those who require an extended stay.

The other side is designed for the robotic residents.  The front part is a large garage, which leads to a waiting area.  Past that are repair bays with with tables, each repair bay is stocked with tools.  The mechanic teams range from human to Cybertronian.

Whether organic or robotic, all those who come to the hospital will see the Paian, the head medic and mechanic.

Paian looked to be nothing more than a normal human plucked out of some Victorian era, steampunk world.  Large green goggled hung around his neck and large leather gloves were tucked behind a wide belt.  There's nothing really fancy about his dress, he's dressed to work.  He's a big guy, and a no-nonsense doctor.  Those who come to see him may not his worried frown as he ushers them back to get settled where he can start to work to take care of those injuries.

So tell me what you know. [Knock Out only glances at Pain briefly before focusing on the girl.] And who gave you that gift? Immortality is not something humans are born with.

[He's going to claim half the space and a big room as his office, either you like it or not man. At least while they work on this together.]

I'm Knock Out. A fitting name, don't you think?

[Knock Out made an effort to actually not sound patronizing.] I want to analyze it, I come with my own equipment. Less risk of using tool already contaminated by whatever is going on here.

Lessa, did you go to any strange place before this happened? Or did you see anything out of the ordinary? Dark shadows, wolves, or funny lights?

Lea found himself privately relived at Elsa's apparent disgust at the mention of Hans. No, it didn't look like Hans was the lucky guy in her sister's life. But then who was? It seemed he wouldn't have to wait long to find out though, at least, and... wait was Elsa asking him out on a date?

His eyes widened and he looked a bit flustered, before pulling himself together. No it wasn't a date. A date required preparation, and fuss, and... stuff. This was just catching up and getting something to eat. Clearly.

Though that did nothing to remove the slight blush from his cheeks as he replied. "Sure, sure, that sounds great," he said. "I haven't really had a chance to get anything to eat yet, and I did pass a restaurant on the way over here. If that's OK with you?"

[Jadewing makes a mildly interested noise.]

How does being made a Guardian work, exactly? Galos said that he was made one, so I'm guess you were too. Did you just wake up one morning with your abilities, or was there some kind of selection process involved?

[Jadewing doesn't have any plans to try and become one himself, if that's even possible. He's just interested in finding out as much as he can about what went on in the apparent centuries-long gap between his last memories of Haven under the Firstforged and their arrival in this city. Someone has to know something after all, and these 'Guardians' seem like the best bet, currently.

Meanwhile, he follows Paian to the supply room and select an appropriate mop and bucket. They could talk while he worked.]

Totally not a date. No. Can't be.

It's only been a couple weeks? Months? To her. So yeah. No. Not a date. Just catching up. You blushed. It's a date.

After all, she had no idea how---well. Proper courting happened anyways. Definitely, she thought, a friendly get together.

It most definitely doesn't stop her from smiling at the dusty red on his cheeks.

"Then it sounds like a perfect idea." she adds, because she really does want to sit for something like tea, that might make acclimating a bit more easy.

"I didn't catch sight of it, though. I wanted to make sure the rather large green....robot made it here first." she managed with a small shrug.

How many Guardians are out there? No one here gave me a proper explanation of what is going on. [And frankly, it's getting on his nerves. Knock Out likes to be aware of the situation he's in.] Do you have data stored about the Miasma? Some reports or a library with information?

Wasn't your world Earth? What higher powers could possibly be found in there...

[He needs a lot of space, bro for his ego. But yes a proper work space will be nice.

Oh, Knock Out's starting to like the little organic.] You should see my other form, it's almost as impressive. And really fast.

Ans where is that cat now? [He looks at Paian as well.] Do you have it? We should take a blood sample too so we can rule out theories.

And Paian's cue to come back in! :3

Lea was equally clueless when it came to how dating and courtship worked, having been stripped of his heart just as it had started to actually become an attractive prospect. And as a Nobody, with no heart or feeling to drive him to explore such, the thought hadn't even crossed his mind.

"'Green robot', huh?", he repeated. "If you mean Bulkhead, he's fine; I talked to him before I came over. Though if you mean the one with the wings, I haven't seen him. Sorry."

"Though that reminds me," he said, reaching into his coat pocket and pulling out a small glass bottle containing about three swallows worth of bright green liquid and smiling a little sheepishly at having forgotten. "I did come here for a reason, originally. Shouldn't take long, though."

He glanced around, hoping that the older man Elsa had been talking to was still nearby.

Hmm...

[Heads back out with the mop and bucket to tackle the big puddle around the med berth.]

Wonder who did the selecting? The last time I was on a Cybertron like this, a group of mechs called the Firstfrged were in charge. Huge mechs, basically demigods, and none too fond of giving straight answers; you guys are already a significant improvement in that department.

[Whatever issues he had with trusting them, these Guardians had already proved much more willing to answer questions and also to just be around than the Firstforged had ever been. Though only time would tell if that remained true.]

Galos didn't seem to know anything about them though, other than the fact that there were some ruins outside the city.

UGH SELF are we really back to this already??? [just noticing how much time has passed since-]

((ooc: - tagging last. OTL))

Thundercracker grimaced again, this time at the question, and thumbed over his (wingless) shoulder at the giant motorcycle against the wall, his wing still propped in the sidecar. "Gunmax's bike."

And? Frag his dignity. He closed the rest of the distance, restraining himself to just put his hands on Jadewing's shoulders . . . when what he wanted to do was HUG the younger Seeker. "It's good to see you. At least part of our trine made it." He'd already lost one trine - as had Jadewing - he didn't care to lose a second, especially not so soon.

the_other_green_seeker: (Happy)

Sokay. XD

[personal profile] the_other_green_seeker 2014-10-22 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Jadewing looked where Thundercracker was pointing, grimacing a bit himself. "Yeah, that'd do it," he said. "Got hit with a human-sized one, myself."

Which was a weird coincidence, honestly, but he didn't have much time to think about it as about then Thundercracker stepped forward to clasp his shoulders. He was clearly restraining himself from hugging outright (probably a good idea, considering his injury), but Jadewing found that he didn't mind one bit, a genuine smile, spreading across his face.

He returned Thundercracker's gesture, mindful of the blue Seeker's injury. "Good to see you too," Jadewing said sincerely.

"There's more of us from before here, though I don't know how many," he said. "I arrived with Deckard and that human with ice powers. And I caught a transmission from that huge-chinned, blue glitch-head who calls himself a Prime over the comms. They're the only ones I encountered before coming here, though."
raceme: (Uh?)

It's okay! You had been busy, don't worry about it

[personal profile] raceme 2014-10-22 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Nothing bad, I hope. I gained some abilities too from mechs far more powerful than me in the last cybertron I was in. From the Firstforged.

[Blurr was going to ask what he meant by that but the odd sensation stopped him short. He was almost going to move away but changed his mind when he realizes he wasn't in so much pain anymore.]

You are a magic user?

[personal profile] the_other_green_seeker 2014-10-23 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Hmph... hopefully yours was a little more reliable than the Forged were...

[Is that a note of bitterness there? Why yes it is.]

Good to know you're around though at least. Medics are always good to have around.

[Jadewing nods thoughtfully as he mops, the process a little slower than it might normally be due to the stiffness of his recently repaired injuries.]

Hmmm... Sounds about right. Most of them were at least twice my size, and their temples were made to match.

Out there? Who made you guardians? [Please don't tell him a shiny ring came floating from space to you or some strange stuff like that.] And what are all your duties?

[Finally some useful new, Knock Out beams.] A library! Now we are going somewhere.

Most come from kids fairy tales. Are you going to tell em Santa Claus is real? [Knock out regretted saying that a second later when he realized the girl was staring at them.] Uh....I mean...yeah right, the cat. Great I'll take a look at it too.

[What's not to like? Don't answer that Paian.]

You are a really smart little she human, you know that? You are right. I am the fastest mech when I am in car mode. I'll shows you once we fix you.

"Well," Lea said, holding up the bottle so that the other man could see it, "I have this healing potion with me that I brought from home. It heals mild to moderate damage and generally perks you up. But I haven't wanted to use it, since I've only got enough for one dose."

"I was hoping that maybe someone here could analyze it and figure out how to replicate it," he said. "That would solve the little supply and demand problem, as well as be generally helpful, if this healing issue I've heard about proves to be a long-term thing."

[Jadewing's expression turns thoughtful for a moment. He was reminded of the Seeker tendency to not associate with anyone who couldn't fly, or at least, anyone with a ground-bound alternate mode. Reactions to non-fliers ranged from mild condescension, to general disregard, to outright disdain.

Or maybe it wasn't quite the same thing. Regardless, he was familiar with the concept.]

Hmph... Distance is one thing. Disappearing into the wilderness for months at a time and not giving those they were theoretically in charge of any idea when or if they'd be back is another. And the only reason they did eventually turn up was that the whole damn planet was about to get fragged.

[Clearly, their lack of presence was rather irksome to Jadewing. He'd never even seen one until the very end when the whole planet was in danger of being devoured by Unicron. Oddly that thought made him briefly notice the small, warm weight of the talisman Solus and Nexus had given him, tucked securely away in a small storage compartment in his cockpit, which in turn made him feel slightly guilty. But only slightly.]

And you're already doing better than a good chunk of those in my universe would then. You'd be surprised how many people really can't handle power. Even relatively benign power, like yours.

[Like, say, most Decepticons, probably including Jadewing himself. He chuckles slightly, though, at the warning not to go exploring alone.]

Not to worry. I've already had someone... very politely insist that he come with me. And we'll probly see if anybody else wants to come before we actually head out.

Thundercracker grimaced as he nodded. "Sentinel. Apparently, in their world, Prime is a military rank among the Autobots. Frag knows how many primes they have. Good to know Deckard's here. I came with Ravage and that spider-femme. I've heard from our trinemate Blurr, and Gunmax, Knock Out, and Bulkhead, and I'm told that Drift, Wing, and Rose are around too." As much as he didn't wish undeserved misfortune on anyone, he found that he was...REALLY glad so many were here that he already knew (and trusted).

"What about you? Are you all right? Aside from your wing?" Seemed they were both grounded until the cause of the lack of healing could be uncovered. Frag. Maybe they could go find a bar and get sloshed as a poor substitute for flying.
